Can CBD reduce pain?

Can CBD reduce pain?

It's not that simple.

There's pain, and there's the unpleasantness of dealing with pain.

A recent study, conducted last year at Syracuse University, tried to separate the pain itself from the placebo effect and the unpleasant challenge of dealing with pain.

The study was conducted with human beings (as opposed to mice) and used CBD isolate.

At PhenomWell, we're big fans of the entourage effect, so we mostly carry full spectrum CBD and combinations of cannabinoids. We often hear that full spectrum products work much better. That said, we certainly see the value of using isolates in studies so that they can be duplicated and results accurately measured.

Isolates are pure CBD, in oil, with no other cannabinoids present.

Given that pain is vast and complex, this study found that CBD did not significantly affect the amount of pain, but did make it less unpleasant.

In other words, CBD had the effect of increasing a person's ability to deal with pain and not be bothered as much.

If this is interesting to you, here's an article about the study.
