Cannabis may help with opioid crisis
A recent study found that counties with legal cannabis had less opioid-related deaths.
This is only one study, and not a medical study.
It uses available data about dispensary location, population, and opioid deaths -- and compares numbers of deaths to the number of dispensaries in certain American counties.
So while it’s fascinating, the study is not designed to show that cannabis use is directly responsible for the lower incidents of opioid-related deaths.
The primary value in the study is to indicate that there’s a potential for more comprehensive, scientific study in this area.
