CBD oil is not the same as hemp oil
CBD oil is an oil from the hemp plant that contains Cannabidiol. CBD is extracted from the cannabis plant and usually combined with a base oil.
Delta 8 THC is converted from CBD oil.
Hemp oil is different. It is extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant. Although it does have health benefits of its own, it does not contain CBD or any other cannabinoids.
Hemp oil also costs much less than CBD oil, so beware of labeling that is deceptive, making you think you're getting the same thing at a fraction of the price.
Tinctures are made by combining CBD oil or Delta 8 THC oil with a carrier oil such as olive oil, grape seed oil, or MCT oil.
We use MCT oil in all of our tinctures.
MCT oil (medium-chain triglycerides) generally comes from coconut oil and has several benefits of its own.
First of all, it has no taste, which can be a bothersome factor with other oils.
It also has natural anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties.
MCT oil is thought to allow for a greater concentration of CBD to be absorbed into the bloodstream because the molecules are smaller than those in most fats -- so you can reap benefits most efficiently and quickly.
