CBD research on high blood pressure could be better

You would think this is good news. And it is. 

According to this research study, if people are given 600mg of CBD, one time, their blood pressure comes down.

"CONCLUSIONS. This data shows that acute administration of CBD reduces resting BP and the BP increase to stress in humans, associated with increased HR. These hemodynamic changes should be considered for people taking CBD. Further research is required to establish whether CBD has a role in the treatment of cardiovascular disorders."

This is good news, but it could be better and there could be way more of it. Research on cannabis has been restricted for decades, so there's a big gap between what is known and what could be proven with adequate research.

We've had customers tell us they have successfully treated high blood pressure with CBD. That's great to hear, but it's not a scientific finding, many of which could become available with more research.

Another problem with available CBD research, according to Martin Lee, co-founder of Project CBD and our next podcast guest, is that research studies on CBD always measure the use of isolates. There's nothing wrong with isolates, but we think full spectrum and even broad spectrum CBD offer significant more benefit.

Mr. Lee also speculates that almost twice as much isolate is needed to achieve a comparable effect as with a full spectrum product.

So the murkiness continues on the medical side of cannabis -- and it shouldn't. Hopefully we'll see a shift in the next few years in the funding of research studies that validate what so many people have been talking about for thousands of years.
