We now have CBDA tinctures available.
While there has been scientific research on the benefits from CBD, there have been no human studies on CBDA.
Anecdotal evidence suggests the benefits may be overlapping but also different. Because these tinctures are isolates, we suggest using CBDA alongside CBD rather than as a substitute.
Not only have lab studies suggested that CBDA can prevent COVID from entering a human cell, there are also lab studies that suggest other potential benefits, such as reducing inflammation, reducing nausea, and offering protection from cancer.
What happens to cells in a test tube can be exciting, but reports on that research, and reports on reports on reports, can result in hyped and misleading claims.
Proof only comes with human trials, and unfortunately, there have been no human trials with CBDA.
This is just to say that while we do choose to carry CBDA tinctures at PhenomWell, and we're totally in favor of new scientific discoveries, we want to be careful about speaking responsibly.
We warn against believing much of the hype that has recently been generated over a recent study showing that CBDA blocks COVID from entering human cells, in a lab. It's an exciting finding, for sure -- but it's a very specific finding about one cannabinoid. Headlines that say 'Study shows cannabis prevents COVID,' are misleading, exaggerating, and actually quite dangerous.
We look forward to the day when there is more research and anecdotal evidence available. Until then, we don't want to contribute to claims about COVID or cancer cures that have no proof.
In the meantime, we look forward to learning more about CBDA.
CBDA, or Cannabidiolic Acid, is CBD before it's heated in any way. The plant must be juiced or cold pressed. In fact, these tinctures should be stored in a cool, dark place. Giving a CBDA tincture a warm sunbath on a windowsill could convert it to CBD.
These tinctures contain 1200mg CBDA isolate.
