Colorful foods for better memory

According to a large study over a 20 year period, a diet that includes a daily serving of flavonoids lowers the risk of cognitive decline by 20%.

That’s a pretty good return for including a little color in our meals.

They aren’t hard to find.

Flavonoids, which contain powerful antioxidants, are found in blueberries, blackberries, cherries, strawberries, oranges, peppers, and other colorful fruits and vegetables.

The results of this fascinating study, released this week by the American Academy of Neurology, can be found here.

So if you want to remember more stuff, then remember to pick up those colorful fruits and vegetables.
