COVID and CBDa?
Some newly published lab research suggests CBDa and CBGa may keep COVID out of human cells. The study happened in a lab, not in trials with human beings.
CBDa is cannabidiolic acid, which is CBD that has not been decarboxylated and is therefore still in its raw, acidic state.
CBDa becomes CBD when it’s decarboxylated, which means it’s been heated, either during extraction, smoking, or vaping.
Nevertheless, CBDa and CBD are two different compounds. While the conversion process may be very different than, say, the process of converting CBD to D8, it’s clear that the science of converting cannabinoids is getting increasingly more sophisticated, experimental, and creative.
CBDa is not psychoactive and it has a number of health benefits.
The lab we work with in California is making CBDa tinctures, which we’ve ordered. We’ll send out an email when they arrive.
