We hope you enjoy the opening of summer and hopefully a long weekend, but let's not forget why today is important. Over 1 million men and women have died in United States military service since the Civil War began in 1861.

A great way to honor them, in addition to remembering them, would be for us to appreciate that we are alive now and make the most of each day.

And we can do what we can, by creating and living in peace now, to keep young men and women in future generations safe from having to make the same sacrifice.
