Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum, or Isolate

Most of the CBD tinctures and edibles we carry are full spectrum CBD products.

Full spectrum means that although the CBD (Cannabidiol), is the primary cannabinoid, some of the minor cannabinoids are also available, including a trace amount (less than .03%) Delta-9 THC.

The hemp plant contains an array of over 100 cannabinoids.

Many people in the industry think it's more effective when a variety of naturally occurring cannabinoids are present, because this offers the "entourage effect." In other words, they work together as a team for better results.

Full spectrum is a little risky for those who are drug tested. The trace of THC, even though it's a very small amount and completely legal, can, if used regularly over a period of time, show a positive result on a drug test.

Delta-8 THC will certainly show positive on a THC drug test and is not advised for people who get tested.

Broad Spectrum CBD also provides the entourage effect because it contains a number of cannabinoids, with CBD being the most prominent.

However, the broad spectrum products have been remediated such that there is no THC -- so it's safe for testing.

Isolate products contain only CBD, with no other cannabinoids. Isolate CBD cost less and is popular because it has have no taste at all. Isolate CBD can be added to many foods, even water. The lower price and versatility is a trade-off for what many think is a less effective product. We carry almost no isolate products at PhenomWell.

Delta-8 THC currently seems to be dominating the current market in states like ours, where Delta-9 THC is illegal.

D8 is technically an isolate, although our products also include other minor cannabinoids and some CBD, for greater effectiveness.
