Hemp history

Hemp, with its amazing versatility and potential, is new to many of us, since it only became federally legal in December of 2018.

But it’s not new to the world.

Hemp is possibly one of the earliest plants on planet Earth to be cultivated.

It’s been grown all over the world, for centuries.

George Washington imported seeds from India and farmed hemp -- along with several other presidents.

Archeologists have discovered evidence of the use of hemp on islands near Japan from about 8000 BC.

It’s current status as a legal crop offers a lot of potential for industrial uses and new health products.
