Is hemp oil the same as CBD oil?
Is hemp oil the same as CBD oil?
No. CBD stands for cannabidiol, a cannabinoid that is extracted from the hemp plant. It's in the gooey resin that comes from the flower.
CBD is often combined with a base oil such as coconut oil, MCT oil, olive oil, or hemp oil.
Hemp oil is extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant and does not contain any cannabinoids.
So there's no CBD in hemp seed oil until CBD is combined with hemp seed oil.
Our CBD tinctures at PhenomWell are based in MCT oil, which is a very healthy food, as it hemp seed oil.
The confusion can be misleading when one is shopping for CBD oil. Sometimes hemp oil is deceptively advertised as having many of the same benefits as CBD oil, in huge quantities at low prices.
It appears to be a great deal, but there's no CBD there.
Consider this product. It looks like 3 million milligrams of CBD for $31.95, which would be quite a bargain.
But it's hemp oil without any CBD. It would be great on a salad, with balsamic vinegar and some herbs and spices, but will not provide the benefits and effects CBD is known for.
